Sits at the natural waist, on a waistband built the way men's tailored trousers are built.

Two sizes, S (67-70 cm at the waist) and M (71-76 cm at the waist). Pick by your waist measurement over whatever you plan to wear it with, since it goes on top of your clothes rather than against your skin. The front fastens like a belt, so there is real adjustment inside each size. If you fall between the two, size up. The buckle takes in more easily than it lets out.

Peplum Black started from a specific morning. You are late, you are in a shirt, and there is no time to build an outfit. You put this on and the problem is solved.

It reads as tailoring without being tailoring. The waistband is constructed the way men's trousers are constructed, boning holds the sides upright, and the red piping runs along pockets that were never meant to open. It is formality treated as a costume you can put on in ten seconds, which is a more interesting thing to wear than the real version.

Made properly and slowly

Heavier than you expect. Closer to a good belt than to a piece of clothing, because there is real structure inside it. Put it down and it stands up on its own.

The lining is satin and it slides, so it will not drag on a shirt or catch on a dress underneath. You forget it is there, which is the trick with something this structured.

The waistband is made with a stiffened insert running through it. Boning through the side panels holds the shape while you wear it, so it stands rather than collapses.

The pockets are decorative. Two flaps at the front, two welt pockets at the back, all of them piped in red. None of them open.
